The BIG issue of one player per hand in online play.

I'll probably get in Mod Hell for this. But, in reading all this stuff about FTP bots and other threads, I continually see in depth discussion about the issue of multiple players per hand in online play.

I think the issue deserves its own thread. And let me start it off by giving my opinion: While it certainly is not at all enforceable (USING THE CURRENT TECHNOLOGY). I think, at its core the concept of one player per hand is just as important for online play as it is for B&M play. To me, that means that as the technology becomes available enforcement of this core poker philosophy should follow.

Even right now, sites do what they can to enforce this philosophy. Things like turning off observer chat late in tournaments and disabling chat all together when a player is all in show that PokerStars is trying to do what it can in the respect.

Posers constantly float the argument that if a site doesn't explicitly state the single player per hand rule than it's OK. Well, I guess technically, they are correct, but I think there off-base on the core concept of poker, which is that during game play, poker is ALWAYS an individual effort, and having others coaching you during a hand goes agaisnt this.

I wasn't aware that this was a BIG issue.

What are you suggesting should be done? I mean other than making a post to insure everyone knows your stance.

There is nothign that can be done. Those who choose to do this, will do so.

I think it's pretty much a non-issue. Highly skilled players aren't going to spend their days sweating unskilled players and giving advice.

lol. I hope the real reason why you started this thread (when its a duplicate of two other threads that already exit in other forums) was to make us laugh with your hidden wit, because you just made me crack up.

Lets say this:

I'm at a cash game, stick the rest of my 80bb stack in on a dry board. The pot is big, and the villain is in the tank. 15 seconds left to act, and some clown @ the table says something along the lines of "fold he has X", or "call he has X"

This would be unacceptable normally (I think, hence chat off for all in in MTTs), however team play is very similar to this.

Why is this a "BIG ISSUE" ? At least at PokerStars it is allowed by their rules.

I really don't think this is an issue at all, and it is definitely not a 'big' issue.
