I bet/fold this. Still loads of worse hands that can call this bet. I doubt he raises here with anything we beat too often tbh.

I'd c/c most blank rivers. A spade river would be pretty interesting if he called the turn. Still c/c? C/f maybe?

BTW so I'm clear - the reason betting is good here is because the Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] isn't really worth too much anyway, right? If you had AA with the A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] would you check-call to make sure you could see the river?

Check/fold probably. Depends on what I think of him, his bet-size etc.

I think that's exactly it.

I had a very similar spot myself yesterday, except I'd flopped top set.

I bet the Turn (more scared about giving a free card to an overpair with flush draw) but it meant I'd butchered the hand when he raised, because I knew I was drawing live to a paired board.

Difference here is, like you say, you've not good a draw you can trust at all. If he's got the flush there's a good chance it's A-high (and even a K is enough...). So here you can fold to a raise without giving up too much. You're either ahead, or you're behind with a good posibility of drawing dead (and not being able to put any real money in even if you spike the Q hi flush).

I think the best play with the Ace of Spades probably is to check.

All this is so counter-intuitive to me because of my years-old limit brain. Bad habits I'm having to teach myself out of.
