$20 Trick at Planet Hollywood?

Taking a non-poker trip to vegas (i.e., with girlfriend) and have some comps to Planet Hollywood. My comp is for a standard room so I was wondering if anyone has tried the ol' "$20 Trick" since they switched over. Hoping it still works there (yes... I used it successfully when it was Aladdin). But since they are trying to go for a swankier image, I'm worried that it'll have to be $50 like Belagio and Wynn.

Anyone try it yet at the new Planet Hollywood?

Worked when I was there in December, got a top-floor strip view room for 20 bucks.

this worked last week with poker rate at bellagio when the place was at 100% occupancy and people were scrambling to even find clean rooms

i'm sure it'll work at PH
FWIW i think 50 or 100 gets a suite usually

$50 trick didn't work for me at Venetian, but that was President's day weekend/NBA All Star Weekend/Chinese New Year/100,000 person convention all happening at the same time. I think even a couple of planets were aligned as well. Hotel was full but the poker room was mysteriously empty the whole time, go figure.

Damn,
all you have to do is ask the check in person if they have anything open for an upgrade.
I used to ask all the time before I moved here.
Was given one about 90% of the time.
I than would tip after receiving the upgrade.
The "B", "W", and MGM all gave one.

There is no TRICK involved here. Just standard operating procedure.
