Re: $11-Hit my king, but now what...
this is why i hate reraising with AK preflop this early, but i guess if you put in half the pot youre basically pot committed, so put in 1/2 to 3/4 pot bet and be prepared to call a push

Re: $11-Hit my king, but now what...
Consider raising more preflop (your raise allows him to better than 2-1 to call with position) to 350-400. Anyway, he ends up just calling after your raise, so what do you put him on? Definitely not AA, KK, and likely not QQ. JJ or TT is a possibility here, as are many pocket pairs, suited ace, or any two broadway cards, suited or unsuited. That seems to be a fairly good range for this level, and it gives you plenty of hands that have you beat right now with trips, two pair or a straight, along with several others that have an open-ended straight or flush draw. Just because you flopped TPTK doesn't mean you have to put any more chips in the pot - you still have most of your stack and plenty of time to play.

Lead out for 3/4 of the pot.

Re: $11-Hit my king, but now what...
You can check/raise all in with the idea of catching a bluff or you can straight up bet the pot and shove any turn. I play tptk pretty strong... Wish I had a read. If villain is good, the only hand you could be beating is JJ, AQ. If villain is unknown or bad I'm just gonna jam it in and hope I didn't get outflopped.
Against a bad player you're in great shape: Hand 0: 39.026% 33.68% 05.34% 42681 6773.00 { QQ-66, A8s+, KTs+, QTs+, A9o+, KTo+, QTo+ } Hand 1: 60.974% 55.63% 05.34% 70493 6773.00 { AhKs } |

Horrible board but lead the flop here. Pre flop I would not re-raise from the SB with AK at this buy-in.

It's very profitable, you'll get Ax hands stacking off to you when they flop an A. You only reraise at 6.50 and below? Seems kind of puzzling. What are you reasons for not reraising? |

[/ QUOTE ] Pot Control. When I miss i do not have to make a big c-bet and then shutdown when I meet resistence. I will lead the flop here regardless for the size of my re-raise. You will get more folds then you will preflop and when you are behind you have saved on the c-bet. Also you still get Ax to stack off on A high flop. |
