No. You should not be raising out of position with a marginal hand. Especially when you can check and get to see a free flop with said marginal hand.

Right.

1)out of position
2)free flop
3)this kind of hand is not good for showdown conflict. You make more $$$ seeing a cheap flop with implied odds to hit a straight/flush.
4)By betting you do not close out the action and give somebody the chance to raise you out of this pot....bye bye implied odds.

Raise hands out of the blinds that are either (1) worse or (2) better.

(1) Worse hands you raise if you think you can take it down. This is a pure bluff and not really advocated unless you know what you are doing.
(2) Better hands you raise for value.

Good but not great hands usually can't be raised for value because of your position. Raising them as a bluff means wasting the medium value you get for free by checking.
