river value bet?
 

This is inspired from the discussion in the other hand i just posted.

Villian i have played 10s of thousands of hands against. He is a decent winning lag.

Online 40/80, 6 handed.

I raise btn, villian 3 bets sb (his range is wide here, as bad as perhaps A6o or something) I cap w/ Qd9d.

Flop TT2 w/ 2 diamonds, he check calls.

Turn is offsuit 9, he checkraises, I call.

River is offsuit 2, he checks.

I think this is a river bet, as I did in the other hand. What do others think?

This depends alot on your history with villian. his check looks like he is giving up on his bluff/semibluff since most players will always pay off this type of board with Ace high. If he is a good lag like you say he is i don't see very many hands he can call with because i expect all pairs to bet the river fully expecting you to call with an Ace. The only hand I can see him checking here is an Ace high flush draw that decided to check call the river now that the board paired. In general I like a value bet here better than your other example but a lot depends on your history with your opponent and if hes tricky enough to check a T here. FWIW I would check here if I have ever seen a player double check raise the turn and river.

Are dbl c/r's common here? Has he ever pulled anything like that b4? I don't know if anyone would try this with A high attempting to freeroll. River looks like a bet if we believe he'll call with his high card.
