Have you ever felt like this before?
 

I played 5-10 this weekend and lost $125.00. I sat with 245.00 in chips and was up most of the 5 hour session. I played well and was very happy with my choices in the game and got lots of respect from 3 other players who were good. The rest were average to bad. I think the other good 3 players were in the positive and I hate the feeling that I was not.
1. If you really feel you played well and lost is it just a bad run?
2. Do you ever get up from a table and still feel positive even though you lost?
3. Tips on being open ended on the flop 10-Q flop j-2-k two [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] I had Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I would lose money on this kind of hand and it drained me. Should I not play as many open ended hands in 5-10?

I always feel good if I believe I played it well...no matter the outcome. I ask myself "would I have done anything different?". If the answer is no, then I'm ok. If I spew chips when all of the warning signs are there that I'm beat...that bothers me.

Losing roughly 12 big bets can easily happen even when you're playing well.

As for the open-ended hands, there are so many variables like position, what the cards are, what is the table like, are they suited. are you drawing to the nut str8..etc etc.

1. You can play perfectly for weeks and still be down money so...

2. Yes, but not nearly as often as I should. Definately something I need to improve on personally.

3. You should NEVER fold this flop. There can be interesting discussions as to if you should be calling or raising though based upon the exact situation. And not to be mean, but the fact that you asked this question means that you are much much worse than you believe you are.

[/ QUOTE ]I know what you mean but I just asked 3 to make sure I was not losing my mind. It just seemed like the big draws were killing my stack. Had QQ raised pre flop and had 3 callers flop 8 Q K and wound up losin to a strait and I raised til the river. Just sucks

1. If I know I played well and still lost, I'm really okay with that. What I'm not okay with is losing and playing badly, which happened last weekend.

2. Yes, see number one.

3. What's your position? Who is in the hand? What was the size of the pot? How many people saw the flop?

This problem is incomplete based on the information I currently have.

I think the problem is maybe, that you didn't play as good as you think.

You sit shortstacked at a limit table and are upset about 12 BB's in 5 hours of play. You ask advice about a hand but ignore a lot of important information and you are probably very underolled.

im playing 5/10 right now and put in 7 bets with the best hand, then got 2 outered and just called his river bet, so there is -8. The next hand i put 6 bets ahead and got 6 outered on the river, and again just called his bet, -15 BB in 2 hands that I played perfectly. So yah, it happens

I played 4/8 kill at Ocean's 11 in Oceanside, CA and was UP about $250 and left EVEN.

During that session I had a set of kings cracked, lost a kill pot I had raised with ATs and flopped 2 pair (got rivered by a straight after the guy was cold calling bets with jack-seven off suit (I check raise three bet the flop as there was a maniac to my right), lost with 99 on a T74 flop, lost with TT when the same guy who rivered me for a straight flopped two pair (jacks and sevens) and then turned a boat.
But at the same time I caught a Q on the river to give a higher set after villan flopped set of 5's.

I ended the session EVEN as I was too frustrated to continue.

All things being equal I guess I was lucky to be even the way thengs went tonight.

I cannot get all bitter because these kinds of suck outs and donk/fish players are all over the internet and I don't think twice about it, but when you are in a B&M and it happens it can be a little frustrating to say the least.
