Absolute shorting prize pool?

Hey all,

Tonight in the $3 9k gtd on Absolute there was 739 entries, 1675 rebuys, and 845 add ons.

At $3 a piece that is 9777 dollars. The total prize pool at the end of the tournament was only $9,000.

I'm sure there is an explanation but can anyone more familiar with Absolute shed some light? Maybe display error or something?

I am not sure but I think they add up the $3+$.30 and all the $3 rebuys and add ons and take 9% of that total as juice.

If this is right then they missed the guarantee and had to kick it up to the 9k.

Yes, Absolute lists their tourney entries as buy-in and fees combined, with 9% being entry fee. They do that on all their MTTs.

Oh man so they vig the rebuys?

That is weak.

Thanks for the info, though.

That I don't know. But it should say so in the tourney lobby somewhere if they do. And if they do, they wouldn't be the only pokerroom that does so.

Yes they vig the rebuys and add ons. I did the math a while back and for an average 700 player $3 rebuy AP charges four times the vig of what Full Tilt does. None of the other sites take a percentage of the rebuys and add ons to my knowledge, but I could be wrong. Stars and Full Tilt do not.
