AK in position
Early in a session and I had been picking up a lot of hands, and thus had been raising alot and showing only a minimal amount as in some situations I had no callers and in other c bets were taking down the pot. I picked up AK two hands in a row, once from UTG+1 and then UTG in this hand. No caller the first time, and then when I raised it is folded around to the BB. I have a feeling he is tired of me raising and is going to come back over the top. Sure enough he does. The fact that I had been raising so much lead me to think that his range of hands to reraise with was wider than usual. We both had about normal stacks, so I decided to put the ball in his court and reraise him, believing chances are I have the best hand, its a coinflip and he calls, or its a coinflip and hes not willing to risk his stack and folds. Based on my table image and my read on him is this a +EV play, or should the fact that I'm in position lead me to simply call and see the flop. Is the shove more +EV if I'm OOP?

Re: AK in position
obviously you need to mix it up a little, but with given read of table and self image i think a reraise is the right move more often then not. you will prolly get looked up lighter then normal with all your activity. thats a good thing.
alot depends on stack sizes as well. big discrepancy between 100-150BB and 250BB+ |
Re: AK in position
Yeah had about normal 100BB and so did he. Though that was +EV because he would have some fold equity depending on what he held.
