AC Fri/Sat night tneys

Anyone play any of Fri/Sat night tneys in AC? Any reviews on which ones are good, how big the fields, etc..?
Thanks,
-RJ

I'm heading to AC tomorrow, wouldn't mind a response myself.

you'll have a better chance at a response if you post this in B&M.

Re: AC Fri/Sat night tneys

I often play the F 12PM $250+ at Borgata, the $500+ F 6PM at Borgata, the $300+ Sat 11PM at Borgata, and the $300+ Sat 6:15 PM at the Taj. Tropicana has 7:15 tournaments both days at $100-$500. Ballys has a $100 on Friday night and $150 on Saturday night. A lot of other places have tournaments at lower buyins, although the buyins Friday and Saturday are higher than during the week.

The Friday $250 at Borgata gets about 500 people, obviously including some fish. They put in a guarentee, and the big crowd tends to draw more due to the weak field and big top prizes. The Friday $500 has about 60 entries and they seem like more serious poker players. I find the $500 tournament easier in some ways though; it has more weak/tight players and less maniacs than the $250. The Saturday $300 at the Taj gets about 70 entries, down from maybe 200 summer before last. The Taj has a big ante and quick structure for this buyin. I don't mind it, as it can be exploited by aggressive play, but a lot of people like the slower structure at Borgata.

Thanks betgo, very helpful. I'm thinking of trying the Trop's sometime and probably the Borgata. I'll post what I think when I do.

Betgo -
For the t'neys you've mentioned, do you recall any (or all) of the following:

-Starting chips
-Time per level
-Rough structure outline

Thanks,
-RJ

Showboat has $125 buy in tourneys in the evening where you get T15,000 and a fairly good structure. This is where I usually play. Nice room. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly people.

Midnight madness at the Taj, Fri/sat 12:12am
