NW Indiana (Chicagoland) Poker Rooms Rake
I mostly play online (for profit) and with friends (for fun). I visited the poker room at Resorts East Chicago recently and the NL game was $2/$5. The thing that surprised me was that in NL they take "time" instead of a rake. Every half an hour each person at the table has to give the house $7. At first this seemed ridiculously high, but I wanted to put some numbers on it and see where I come out.
30 hands per hour 20 hands per hour that would normally be raked "Normal" rake 10% max $4 Average pot well over $40 Average 8 players at table Rake would be around 20*4=$80/hour Time is 14*8 = $112/hour So if my assumptions are correct, the $14/hour "time" payments are about 50% higher than a 10%/$4 max rake would be. Can anyone help me out with the numbers? Especially people who actually play at the local casinos? Also, speculation on how "beatable" a game this is would be welcome. |

Timerakes are very common, this game is extremely beatable, you should have posted this in the B&M Forum to get better answers.

In Vegas it's 6$ for every half hour at 5/10NL uncapped. That's huge rake for a 2/5 game.
