Valentines Gift Ideas Needed!
 

So, I just started seeing/talking to this girl about 3 weeks ago. Nothing serious, we've casually hung out a few times, went out to dinner and to a hockey game. I like her and we get along well. I want to get her something for Valentines Day, but I dont want it to be the standard card and arrangement of flowers type of thing.

I am just looking for some creative ideas for something simple, yet different to get her.

BTW..she is 22 years old, I am 25 years old. She is in her last semester of college, I have already graduated and have a full-time job.

FWIW girls really like getting flowers on V-Day, even if it's cheesy. If you want to establish that you're the man (i.e. goin steady) now is a good time to do it. If you don't want to buy her flowers, think about what you've talked about in the last few weeks and buy her something based on that. For example, if you have been discussing music a lot, buy her a CD that you think she will like, it shows that you put thought inot it and have been listening to her. The last part is key: make sure she knows that you have been listening to her, it goes a long way.

honestly you can never ever go wrong with flowers, trust me.

then really snazy meal with champagne (homemade if your confident).

There is a culinary school next to me that has a lot of struggling / starving students (kind or funny actually).

A couple V-days ago I got one of them to come over to my condo and cook an awesome dinner for myself and this girl I had been working on for a couple weeks.

Only cost $100 fee + $40 in food + $40 in wine.

The girl loved it, made her feel super special, and helped me close the deal. I figure a descent dinner on V-day is going to cost $150 any-ways, so this was pretty cost effective and also I was in close proximity to the bedroom.

We did Vday yesterday since she has a night class on VDAY. I got my wife a foot spa, since she's been complaining lately about foot problems.

She got me an 80G video iPod.

In fact, I may hasten to add, 100% of women are secretly dissapointed when they don't get flowers on valentines day, despite indications to the contrary.

Keep it simple - Flowers and maybe something personalized that she has been talking about that she wants or needs. Otherwise supplment with chocolates or something like that. There is a reason these are the staples - girls like them.

She will be so happy that you thought of her - no need to get too nutty.
