got a new computer should i download the newest version or keep the old one? wha are the adv/disadv?

Meh. It has tabbed browsing and is more aware of phishing sites than 6 but it is still probably going to get cracked because it's MS and that's what people do. However, if you don't go do a lot of cheap pron browsing and use some sort of spy ware removal programs you should be alright regardless of what browser you use.

There's no reason I am aware of not to upgrade to the most recent version of IE. However there are a lot of reasons to use Firefox or another browser instead, mainly having to do with IE's persistent security problems.

Can't give you specific reasons, but my computer engineer has told me NOT to download IE7 since other of his clients have had problems with it. I didn't ask for the details- I just do as he tells me:) My son loves Firefox.
