He has no college degree (drop out) and has been one of the local CC's best employees for 3ish years now (but only part-time, he's been full since november 06)

I'd say it's true. Wouldn't surprise me if he made that.

I used to work retail at a Galyan's (now Dicks) and the department heads (managers) there were making over 60 grand before bonuses. The store managers made six figures. I know that the store manager for Lowes made about 250K.

I think for most big-box retailers, the managers make bank while the workers make dick.

Edit: this was about 3 years ago. I was one of the pee-ons. I dont do the retail thing anymore.

I did a brief stint at wal mart.

While i was there i found out that assistant managers starting out in a non metro area is 37k and in a metro store it's like 48k. So with a little time under his belt and at a better store i'd assume he makes ok money.

That sounds on the high side of believable. It will probably be less than that, but not by a ton.

I heard the dimwits sitting in booths at subways in NY make like 60k+/yr. You don't even need a pulse to work there.
