AJs, should I be shoving here?

All I know about villain is that like me, he hasn't played any pots the last couple orbits.

But how many times has it been open folded to him? In a vacuum I fold.

I don't like a shove here. He's prolly not gonna fold if he's been tight and now just invested almost 25% of his stack. It seems like you have almost no FE, could easily be crushed, and are essentially praying just to get the suboptimal end of a coinflip here. Just fold and use you stack for better purposes like some first in vig exploitation.

Shoving seems fine, given your typical pre-flop raiser from the Hijack.

I should add that the blinds go up to 200/400 in ~3 minutes. I was actually very happy with the fold when I made it, but by the next orbit I was fully regretting it.

With blinds going up I probably push this and hope for a coinflip. I doubt you are ahead of his range but by folding you leave yourself with like 6 bbs. If blinds weren't going up for a while, given his tight image this is an easy fold.

Re: AJs, should I be shoving here?

I always try to interpret bet sizes which tends to be easier postflop, but there are some players PF where the diff amounts make a diff. I hate folding a strong suited ace with under 15bbs to one open raise without a read. Especially because he's calling his stack and also theres only 1 person to act who hasn't acted yet. For those who fold are you also folding AQo here?

About the blinds going up you will usually be utg+1 by the time the 3min is up at most tables, you will have to do 1 if not 2 steals during that time or you can try to resteal here to get to 10ish bbs before blinds go up, which is something you shoulw strive for, once at 10bbs 2 steals and you are upto 14bbs and proper restealing level.

This is close. AQo is not close.

Re: AJs, should I be shoving here?

I'd shove.

Edit: reading the rest of the thread, the blinds me that you really have to shove. His 3x + a weeny bit raise means that you probably have no FE, but in probably also means that he's not got aces.
