Poker in San Juan

Going on vacation to San Juan, do any of the casinos there have poker? Sorry if this has been answered before, tried searching but it didn't return anything. (Also, if you know if any of them have sportsbooks that would be good to know too.)

Re: Poker in San Juan

I played there last March. They have four or five hotels with poker, most of them in Isla Verdes. I would suggest either the ESJ or the Intercontinental. As I remember, the poker doesn't get going till the evening--it's not 24/7. Also, they don't spread NL--it's all limit (and all Hold'Em). 5/10 was the highest available at the place I played, although they allowed you to raise 10 before the flop and on the flop, if you wanted. I.e. you could bet either 5 or 10 preflop. I think, also, that you could raise a 10 dollar bet only five more...but that could be wrong.

They also have tournies at the ESJ and the Intercontinental, and those are NL. The structures are pretty fast, but there are lots of rebuys. It's a crapshoot, but the cost is 60.00 and the top prizes are in the 1000$ range, so it might be worthwhile.

The limit games I played were unbelievably juicy. Crazy donkeys on all sides, with a few smart players who just sat back and waited. (I got reraised twice by a player with middle pair and a gutshot, when I already had the nut str8.) The staff was friendly and the vibe was pleasant. They also have table games for much cheaper than you'll find in any LV strip casino. All in all, a nice city for cards.

Good luck,
Amicus
