100NL Four readless hands (A little rusty)

I know its normally one post per topic but these are likely to be quick since there are no reads and I dont want to clog up the forum.

Getting back into poker for the year, Jan sucks and am down 10 buyins so these may be simple.

1. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

saw flop|saw showdown

Button ($119.40)
Hero ($138.29)
BB ($34.35)
UTG ($108.25)
MP ($104.95)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $0.50.
3 folds, Hero (poster) raises to $3.5, BB calls $3.

Flop: ($8) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero bets $5, BB calls $5.

Turn: ($18) A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets $5, Hero calls $5.

River: ($28) 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero checks, BB calls $33.35 (All-In), Hero calls $20.35.

Final Pot: $81.70

Scary flop but likely hands are draws. Worth a Cbet? I doubt it now. Also - his range can easily be a good A on the river.

UTG (poster) checks, 2 folds, Button calls $1, SB (poster) completes, Hero checks.

Raise flop seemed the thing to do. But why? what worse hands call/better hands fold. How is a call. I think the real value in this hand is stacking 8s when I hit. How would you play A8 here?

Hero checks, Button calls $72.31 (All-In), Hero calls $43.31.

Thought about pushing flop - is that the better option or the easy option? Giving that I called, what is my plan on turn. What could his range be here?

Nice flop! If the guy raises is a push good? What should I do on the turn? Obvious bet right but how do I respnd to a raise. I have outs but am definately behind so basic pot odds depending on size right?

Re: 100NL Four readless hands (A little rusty)

1. I really hate being sat to right of shortstacks. Im not sure about cbetting flop, but I dont think play is terrible.

2. I wouldnt raise this. Your setting up a big pot with a marginal hand, and as you say your value comes from stacking 8s, so you want to give 8s good odds to call. Often I fold these draws in small pots, because I dont think I have pot/implied odds because the draw is so transparent.

3. Push flop.

4. Reads on villain? Id probably be pretty aggressive with the draw, but Im not sure you would have a lot of FE, so it may not be the best play.

womble,

1: Bet more on the flop, def. bet turn, c/f river to any substantial bet.

2: I would just call tbh, raising this flop in a 4-way pot = meh.

3: push flop, he's short and can have a lot of draws or just a seven or an overpair which he'll call with.

4: check turn.
