25k guaranteed Stars B vs B with OESD
Villian seemed solid, not a real chaser or move maker. Should I call flop or fold turn. Moving in on the flop would seem like I have a draw.

I look at that play, and I have to wonder what you were trying to prove. You had 6 high, he probably had A7. I probably call the flop and fold the turn, why'd you go broke on a missed draw. You made that pot enormous when it never had to be.

I don't know but call then fold seems pretty weak with an oesd and a random hand from the bb.

Re: 25k guaranteed Stars B vs B with OESD
If you want to play it aggressively, raise to t900 on the flop planning to push the turn if he checks to you (or take the free card, though i like pushing better). If he leads out on the turn like he did as played, then you fold. I don't mind just calling the flop, either.
As played, your pot-sized flop raise is too large. Since he can't expect you to fold the turn, you're only getting about 3.25 to 1 odds (3900 to 1200), and you may be drawing dead (and if not you likely only have 6 outs), you don't have odds to draw to your straight. Fold the turn. |

raise less on the flop (or just call), fold the turn

Re: 25k guaranteed Stars B vs B with OESD
You can raise less on the turn but it's not terrible.
garak's call flop and lead turn along with your read looks like 2 pair or posibly 7 with a big club. If you count only the 2 pairs you need odds to be under 32%. If you count the 7 with a big club need to be under 27.1%. Your implied odds with the extra 290 is 27.35% edit: I made a mistake, implied odds are 23% 900/3890. Easy call. Since it is still relatively early, I go ahead and gamble to try and get a big stack and also for image purposes. |
