Getting Bluffed or Paying Off?
Just curious if anybody here reacts more strongly to being bluffed out of a big pot than to paying off a huge hand because of great play by villain?

Re: Getting Bluffed or Paying Off?
I am much much more upset at being bluffed out of a pot...but I think that maybe because of the style I play (LAG) it happens less often. Just last night, I had AQos and was pushed out of the pot post flop. What really really really pissed me off and what I have the hardest time with is that after the hand was over I asked him what he had and he ignored me - he asked me what I had and I told him (one of the reasons being that I was 'playing on the clock' (I work at the casino and it was no secret in the game) so I handle those questions a little bit differently than if I were just in the game normally. The guy was fairly well known and was a TOTAL DICK!!!! Once I told him what I had, his face turned beet red and he said nothing more but left 2 hands later. Good play I can respect....this guy was a tool. [censored] mother [censored]!!!!

um...I pay off people even when they play horrendously. I constantly pay off. So if the question is do I dislike paying off or getting bluffed more the answer is I much more dislike paying off...cause I lose a lot more money
if its about paying off a huge hand because villain played it very well...well that doesn't ever really bother me, since I pay off all the time. For example, one of my prouder moments of online poker : Prima Poker skin No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $5/$10 10 players Converter Pre-flop: (10 players) porktom is MP1 with : : UTG folds, UTG+2 raises to $50, MP2 folds, CO calls, SB calls, BB raises to $190, UTG+2 calls. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($490, 6 players) BB bets $250, UTG+2 calls. Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($990, 6 players) BB bets $430, UTG+2 calls. River: J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($1850, 6 players) BB bets $730, UTG+2 raises to $1600, BB raises to $2470, UTG+2 calls all-in $269.5. Uncalled bets: $600.5 returned to BB. Results: Final pot: $6189.5 yes, I am a giant fish. oh yeah, I'm BB with A5o, he's UTG+2 with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] |

You continue to pay off, even though you know it costs you a pretty penny. |
Re: Getting Bluffed or Paying Off?
I hate both but it is a different kind of feeling. When I suspect that I am bluffed, but fold, I get angry at the opponent and dream how I would torture him with different kinds of instruments. When I pay off like an idiot I get angry at a) myself, possibly causing physical harm to some part of my body b) poker gods, come onnnnnn, you got to be kidding me!! thats not fair!
