Wheel\'s falling off!
I'm leaving in 3 weeks for the WSOP in Europe. I qualified online.
I am feeling like a fish out of water. I've been playing lots of online tourneys, anywhere for $1 MTT to $20 MTT for practice. My god, I am feeling like I've never played before. No rhythm, flow, nothing. I'm making bad bets in bad positions, and not having confidence in position. OK Thanks for letting me rant. Please comment on the following 3 hands. I think observation on these might help to tune me up. Hand 1. Hand 1 Turn: (t900) J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero? [/ QUOTE ] It shouldn't be on Hero to act if the SB called. If SB checks, check behind. Re: Wheel\'s falling off!
Hand 1: I'm just checking PF OOP with KQ at level 1. So you miss the flop-why bet the pot? Just bet 1/2 here and if you get called and get no help on turn shut down. This hand plays much easier when you don't raise.
Hand 2: Miniraising is sooooooooo awful here. Who is going to fold? Make it 200 or just limp. Fold flop. Hand 3: You hit your straight and so has someone else the only question is if he has QJ. I don't think it's often enough that pushing is bad- you probably have a freeroll. Hand 4: fold PF! Don't play these sucker hands to raises. Then, why are you calling a raise on the flop with bottom pair and a straight sitting right there. Man, you are done with this hand when that flop comes. Don't even think about chasing a 10 to split the pot you will lose a lot of chips. Definitely -EV. So don't call raises/play marginal hands OOP. Don't miniraise. Practice reading the texture of the flop and think about how it could have helped your opponents. |
Re: Wheel\'s falling off!
Good advice. Thanks!
Hand 1 raise was a straight steal attempt without any strength being shown on the initial betting, and a somewhat rag flop. Hand 2, I don't know why I min raised. Bad move. What size bet would you have suggested? T250? |

[/ QUOTE ] hand 1. i don't think this is the best place for a steal. even if you want to try, 1/2 the pot is all you want to put in. hand 2. just call. fold after the flop. |
Re: Wheel\'s falling off!
In hand 1 I hate the PF raise. I take the free card on the turn. I can see villain having a set here.
What's with the miniraise in hand 2? Make it around 200 here. Or call. I trihnk u have to fold the flop.. you're almost always beat here. hadn 4. Once again i hate the PF raise here.. limp and see a flop if u like. I also hate the call on the flop.. raise the BB and then fold to any agression behind u. |
