2000PL08 - Errr... I have a boat.

Errr... I was kinda stuck on this one. The almost min raise threw me way off as well.

What's my line. I don't think Villain will stack off with 59, but might with A5.

With position...I just call his mini raise. If the river brings a low, I would check call his bet. If not, you have a tough decision to push or play it safe.

I think that you have to re-pot. A diamond flush pays you here, but you are likely splitting the pot. I don't want to wait for the river to see a low. I want to put the villian to the test right now and gamble for the low to hit.

Um. What?

I'd probably reraise here pot. If he slows down then your hand is probably the better boat/ only boat. Might not stack off with 95 but I think that A5 is more likely most of the time. Honestly, it doesn't look to me like this guy has a boat yet. That having been said, Im still not willing to felt with this hand on the turn.

Oh wait, I misread the action. Still reraise and I AM willing to go to the felt with this hand on the turn and almost any river after you're reraise.

I bet he has ace five here on the turn. Stack him.

Edit: I have never played limits this high...so it's possible that he could be trying to trap you with aces, but I doubt it. He could have a checked flop fearing the flush, but again I doubt it, since it's four-handed.

this hand looks like he either has any 5, or could very well be trying to take the pot away from you, figuring you dont have a hand. i really think he's just making a play here, and i dont think he'll call a huge re-raise with anything but A5.

i would call his raise, since he's likely to assign you a low draw/all kinds of hands that you could call with here. if he has A5, i think he'll pot the river, and i think he'll c/c with a lesser FH and probably trips if the low gets there on the river.

if he pots the river, i would re pot it. if he checks the river, i would pot it.

but i think it would be a mistake to raise this turn, b/c too often he is just making a stab at it since you dont seem to be strong at all.

Re: 2000PL08 - Errr... I have a boat.

If you don't re-raise on the turn, how will you trap him? In addition, if he has a viable low draw, he will call the river and you will split. If the low does not hit on the river, he escapes. Plus, there is a remote chance that he has a pair that will hit a larger boat on the river and I would not want to give him a free card. I discount quad 5's, but it is possible.

I don't play this limit. From what I have watched, the play is hyper aggressive and many hands end up all in. If you disagree with my comments, please let me know why. Thanks.

not to nitpick but he charged himself $100 to see the river. there are no free cards here.

Re: 2000PL08 - Errr... I have a boat.

I'm sorry, but anything other than re-raising the max seems retarded, unless there is some real reason to believe that this SB, who did not raise pre-flop and can have any 4, and who did not throw out a bet when an ace hit on a 3-diamond flop, has AAxx, or unless there's something I'm missing in the post. There is no reason to give this guy a chance to draw to a low for no add'l $ above his raise. How awesome will you feel when he calls your pot bet on a low river card and turns over 5-6-7-8, or 2-4-J-J, and you split -- when he might have folded to your re-raise.

If he's "taking a stab at it", why not take his money now with a re-raise? Why give him the chance to see another card for no additional price, and give him a chance to draw to a marginal low? Or maybe hit a better full house? What am I missing?
