Is is really that easy?

When I started to play the HU turbos I tried to outplay my opponents. 3 barrel with nothing, slowplaying, bet flop and check turn with toppair, checkraise bluff the turn.
I had only marginal results. Still 61% winrate from 11.5-34$ turbos but nothing to be proud of.

Then I encountered that I am suffering from a disease:

The fancy play syndrome or FPS for the scientists

But I found the cure:

Its a pill from the pharmaceutical company VB. VB stands for

Value Betting!

Since I take this pill before playing the first HU SNG my results are surprisingly good!

It is really that easy?

Depends on the opponent.

against players at the lower limits you don't need to be too
tricky. Value betting at these limits will in fact be your bread and butter.

I still pull tricky moves at those limits, but they typically aren't bluffs, they are instead weird value bets of which lower limit players get suspicious. For example today I bet the flop the pot with a pair but it wasn't that strong, so I checked the turn and he checked behind. Now he's shown a lot of weakness so I represent a bluff by betting the full pot on the river and he ends up calling me with A high. This happens a lot at the lower levels, because if a weaker player represents weakness he expects someone to act accordingly.

PS I'm pretty drunk so that might have been a ramble, I'll check it out tomorrow.

I find I have a higher win rate playing $100hu matches and up. I play a TON of $5-20 matches bc half the time I am on the phone or surfing the net. However, these lower limits require you to play straightforward poker. The morons dont know that a check raise means strength, so I never checkraise bluff. If I raise pf and an ace hits I always bet bc 90% they will fold. If an ace doesnt hit, I wont cont. bet bc they will call me down
