You're playing a HU NL SNG and have a 3:1 chip lead, so if you lose an all in pot you are back to even. Assume it is early so the blind pressure is low, and that your opponent is decent.

How does your strategy change at this point?

Specifically, are you more or less willing to get it in preflop in likely coin-flip situations?

Or would you rather try to use your chip advantage to avoid big marginal prelfop races and see more flops - with the hopes of flopping big and getting it in as a big favorite?

And regardless of what you think the correct stat adjustment is, how do you think the "avg" player adapts to a 3:1 chip lead?

When I'm in a 3-1 chip lead, I'm glad to get into a coinflip situation. My postflop edge is greater when we are deeper, not when he is shortstacked.

lol. sounds like me. I would definintely be willing to flip if I had a 3:1 lead on the villain. and the higher the blinds are the more likely I would do it. Furthermore, if it was early on and I lost a flip that I should have won, ie AKs vs K2o I would more than likely be the one pushing all in the rest of the match

If you knew it was a flip, sure, but what I was more wondering about is marginal situations...like you rr with ATo, KJs, 66, etc. and villian pushes. So you are likely close to even money, but could also be dominated or have him dominated. Does your chip lead make you more likely to call?

I guess why I posted in the first place is that I tend to be willing to get it in with really marginal hands when I have a chip lead because I figure at worst I am back to even, and am wondering if this is standard or if others take an opposite approach and try to use their chips not to gamble but to see lots of flops, even with pretty decent hands like mentioned before.
