Reraise or smooth call.

Sorry I cant remember the specifics of a b&m sng I was recently playing but let me try to ask the question in general.

I had a tight short stacked player raise half his stack on the bubble. Me and the other 3 players have about twice his stack. He had about 6X the BB, but I knew would only push with a premium hand.

I am the BB with JJ.

Is there a general principle I should follow of whether raising him all in preflop or calling and betting the flop (no matter what the flop)

As it worked out, I put him all in, the flop came rags, and he hit an A on the river. If I had called and bet the flop he would have folded (Im not going into his poor play, just mine, he told me he would have folded)

I would push the short stack in pf. You are only behind 3 hands and he may just be getting desperate. If he was a tight player, chances are he had any pair or A9+. I make the call here.

What was your position at the table?? How many players were left?

To just put him all-in pf is fine. Don't judge your play by the results. The result of the hand does not affect the quality of your preflop decision to put him all-in.
