Flop, oh flop, why do you tease me so

Villain is 33/15/2 but generally plays OK. I have been playing 23/17/4 since I have been at the table.

I had one horribly bad bluff picked off a few orbits earlier. Not horrible in that I made a bad decision but horrible in that I lost concentration and had QK on another table and J9 on this, both were raised pre-flop and when I raised the hand for value on a 94Q7K board I thought I was on the QK hand and only found out I was on the J9 one when the guy called my river pot raise with middle pair and won! So oops.

Anyway I digress

Hero $102
Villain $155

Hero is in the CO with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

2 fold, Hero raises to $4, 1 fold, SB raises to $8.50, Hero calls, $8.50,

Flop $17

2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB bets $7

Hero?

Seems simple but after a re-raise pre-flop should I raise or just take the great odds offered here? Does it even matter much?

I dont mind calling this tiny little reraise in position. Just call flop b/c i think if you raise, he will shove. I think this is QQ+ ez.

Call flop.

I'm confused about the preflop raise. Did SB raise to $8.50, or did he raise $8.50 on top, aka to $12.50?

If it's the second one, you should probably fold PF.

As played, I think you should just call. I think TT+ is not folding to a raise, meaning all you really fold out is AK, AQ, and AJ (if that's in his reraising range). If he does have one of those hands, it should become apparent by his play on the turn + riv, in which case you shouldn't have a hard time taking the pot away from him.

$8.50 total, would not call a real raise with my trashy hand.

I like calling flop and raising any non-ace turn if checked to.

I think a call here is fine. Take the good price and see what the turn card, and action, is.
