I usually check behind on flops like this. you have no idea how many outs you have if you are behind which makes getting cr-ed quite tough to deal with. I may still call a turn bet unimproved though depending.

c'mon now. you can't fear the CR. i bet at this 100% of the time. if i get CR'd then i'll decide how to proceed. i think you take it down at least half the time with a bet. the other half of the time you're not in terrible shape.

EDIT: to OP... i bet 600 pre-flop. 400 just isn't quite enough for me. with AK you don't mind taking it down without a flop.

what do you mean you figure out what to do. there aren't any tells, so whats your plan if you are cr-ed. do you call or fold?

Thats not a plan, thats simply avoiding the possibility.

This is just really bad. You want to see flops with AK in position. 600 makes it very unlikely that a dominated hand calls you. Also, your preflop opens should be consistent. If you're making it 600 with AK, but 400 with aces or something... thats very bad.

If it's Q 3 6 I probably bet. If its QT8 2 tone, I'm less likely to bet, and probably check. Against a tricky opponent I check most of the time. Against a total nit I'd bet this flop.
