n64 classics

I picked up an n64 at a garage sale for cheap. It came with OOT, MM, mario, banjo kazoo 1 and 2, wave race. OOT is fun, mario i've already beaten years ago, BK sucks. what other good games are there?

road rash 64
mario party
conker's bad fur day
goldeneye
perfect dark
starfox 64

all those games are genuinely awesome.

BK is the same game as Mario with better graphics, so I don't know how you think it sucks. It's still the second best 3D platformer in existence. I'd give that another chance depending on how long you've tried it.

People will tell you Mario Kart 64, good if you're going to play multiplayer. Give MM a shot, but it is a big commitment so if you're not really into Zelda it might not be for you.

If you do like 3D platformers but just don't like BK for whatever reason, try Donkey Kong 64 and Rocket: Robot on Wheels (lesser known but great game by the guys who later made Sly Cooper).

I remember people used to like SSX (?), but I never played it.

sorry man, i strongly disagree with this. mario 64 is one of my all time favorites, and imo, one of the best video games ever, and banjo kazooie doesn't come close. i played the whole game, and the "feel" was not nearly as smooth or fast in controls as mario 64. it really wasn't a great game in my experience... same for donkey kong 64 (i didn't play the whole game).

if you're looking for an awesome platformer that is also more tailored towards adults, conker's bad fur day is delightul. =)

Haha...no need to apologize. I actually didn't like Conker that much. It's just not big enough in scope like Mario and BK are. The bat level was amazing though.

I agree about Donkey Kong 64. That one is overly large (contradicting myself?) and is often described as a big egg hunt because of all the crap you have to collect. Banjo-Tooie is even worse. But if you're a huge fan of the genre, both are still recommended.

There really haven't been any platformers like those since N64. There's great platformers such as Ratchet & Clank and the Jaks, but they're more linear and not the same open world puzzle-solving style.

Eh I guess Mario Sunshine which is meh...

If you were ever into wrestling, Wrestlemania 2000 or No Mercy is a must. No Mercy has a few more features, but Wrestlemania has a better cage match and much better 1-player story mode.

Wasn't a fan. It certainly didn't live up to the hype. Two more great games I thought of : Rogue Squadron and Turok 2. Turok isn't for everyone though, some find the really long levels annoying.
