Hip Hop Hold\'em?

Was just watching a rerun of the shield on WPHL17 in Philadelphia (Not sure what station it is elsewhere) Anyway now some show called Hip Hop Holdem is on, Ed Lover is hosting, and it's basically Celebrity poker showdown but with people from the Hip Hop scene.

Anyway, first I've heard of it, anyone else know of it?

Sounds dumb. I dont understand why all these shows are coming out with celebrities, who have no idea what they are doing, play bad poker...

I really think the era of watching average donks or celebrities play poker is coming to an end. At the beginning of the poker boom I would watch any and every show having to do with poker. Now I could care less about watching the average online qualifier play. Anyone else have a similar experience? I watched the WSOP Main Event live via PPV and the HORSE event last week. That was it for the WSOP this year (although I probably would have watched the final broadcast had Cunningham win). I also watch HSP and I have been watching PS3 in the later rounds.

I watched it last night for the first time. It was 6 handed with a bunch of rappers and djs and one comedian. The play was horrible they were calling down with nothing and alls kinds of mess and the dealer would call out the hands after. The only player who knew some what what he was doing was dj clue!! The guy who got 2nd was calling station catching straights and 2 pairs lol. Anyway funny part is when someone bust out they send 2 hiphop girls over to get the busted out rapper to escort him away from table to a couch aka player lounge. The only good thing is the winner gives 10k to a charity. Im sure theres more where someone knows what their doing in future episodes or better yet I hope so haha! They looked like 5 outta 6 were playing for the 1st time in their lives. Reminds when celeberty poker showdown just started but with a dj in background mixing and players saying "I raise you know what im saying for real thou imma keep it real son!!"

I enjoyed it. A brunch of rappers playing poker with no real concept of the game is entertaining to me. When the board comes A-Q-5 and some guy calls a big bet with K-8 and draws out to win the pot, I enter the Twilight Zone; see the sigh post up ahead. Most of you guys don't take these things for what they are. You watch a few times, laugh a little and move on with your life.
