Toe/foot cramps

Does everybody else experience these with the same frequency that I do? I imagine I get one about twice a month or so. It comes and goes with some stretches of time without any toe/foot cramps and then I'll get a couple in a week's time. Are these from not consuming enough water? I know (have been told) that cramps are from lacking water in your muscles or something along those lines but is that what causes the toe cramp I just experienced?

Does anybody else even know what I'm talking about?

is it like a charlie's horse? like, if u curl ur toes hard enough for a few seconds they'll start to curl even harder, even when you stop, and the only way to stop the curling is to grab ur toes and forcefully straighten them out? if so, i feel you. sometimes i do it for fun.

Yes this is what I'm talkinga bout. My "index toe"? will like...wig out and be bent downwards w/o actually curling. And yes, the only way to stop it is to straighten them using my hands. Glad someone else has these.

Just walk it off. Works much better than bending it back with your hand.

When they start curling, if you can keep still for 15 seconds and work through the pain, they uncurl themselves.

Weird little experiment I tried.

I get that too. Hurts enough that I straighten them out with my hand, too.

It could be that your diet is low in potassium or sodium.

Almost nobody's diet these days is low in sodium.

eat more bananas, drink some gatorade, and read L. Ron Hubbard.

Low levels of certain minerals known as electrolytes—magnesium, potassium, calcium and sodium—have long been linked to leg cramps. (Marathon runners sweating out the miles are particularly prone to this variety.) Certain drugs, such as diuretics have also been cited as a cause of leg cramps. Dialysis patients often complain of leg cramps, and pregnancy is also a factor.
