Top two-pair facing a raise and reraise......
Cash game 300max/100min 5/2 blinds.
I have A5 on the button. CUT-OFF-1(2000) limps CUT-OFF(450) limps BUTTON(ME)(600) limps SB folds(300) BB checks(300) FLOP comes A 5 4 rainbow BB checks CO-1 raises makes it $25.(He is a strong solid player) CO seat raises to $100 (from what i've seen he's played pretty solid) I have top two pair and I lay it down here. Bad move? Should I have at least called or at least raised to see where I'm at. The cutoff later showed second two pair 5's and 4's. I had him for a set. Am I seeing monsters under the bed? |
Re: Top two-pair facing a raise and reraise......
That's weak. There are 3 ways for 44 and there's only 1 way for each of 55 and AA. (Plus AA is unlikely from a strong player. 32 is also not worth considering.) But A4, 54, A2s/A3s, and some medium-strong A are very likely. I'd raise that and see how he (and everyone else) plays back. A lot of hand you beat will pay you off a bit.

Thanks for the response. Yes, I think it's weak too.
I keep thinking about this hand and how I played it wrong. I wish I had it to do over because raising would have been the way to go. Well maybe next time. |
