tough decision with 99

Live multi 170 people down to around 40, pay 14.

For 2 hours now my hands have all been trash.

8 players at the table.
Blinds: 400/800 go up every 20 mins
--- next bump is 600/1200
--- UTG has 6500 chips and a mediocre player
--- Hero has 5200 chips

UTG raises 2400
All fold to Hero in MP3 with 99.

I ask how much UTG has left and he calmly counts out his chips and avoids eye contact. Someone says to me "if you go all in he's commited" UTG agrees verbally. My instincts is telling me he has AQ or AJ by the way he is acting like he doesnt want a call.

Do you push here knowing UTG is pot commited and risk the tournament right here and now?

I'm an online player and am not good with deciphering tells, so I don't know how to account for your read on him avoiding eye contact, but I think this is a push. You have an M of only 4.5 and have a pretty good hand. It does make me suspicious that he didn't open push as his M is low also. I still put my chips in though.

Yup my gut said "push push he's only got to overs and your down on chips" then my hands threw in the cards and my brain went "WTF you wanted to push!?"

Then I saw an ace flash when UTG mucked.

Never had my brain say one thing and my hand do another like this hand.

When you've got 4.5BB 99 is AA.
