Any way I could have saved bets in this hand??

10/20 6m
UTG limps, MP limps, CO raises, I 3B A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button, both blinds call everyone calls.
Flop comes Q [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
Everyone checks to me, I bet, all call.
Turn comes 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
All check, suddenly MP donks, CO folds, I raise, all fold except UTG (a donkey that cold calls air or very little) that calls, MP 3Bets, I call, UTG calls.

*At this point, I know MP well enough that I'm beat at the moment, she could have a str8 but she can also have 2 pair which i may be able to counterfeit. I raised the turn to protect my hand in this big pot. I had a feeling she had a strong hand but I needed to raise in case my hand was good.

River pairs the 8, MP bets, I call, UTG calls. I was planning on folding the river if it didn't pair.

**How was my thought process and is there any different way to play this??

My thought process and play in this hand is exactly the same.
