Couple of hands I need opinions on
Villian here is 54%/13%/4.45 over 70 hands, but that's a little misleading. I haven't seen any outrageous bluffs and incredibly stupid plays yet, which is why I folded. I just can't see when I'm ahead here.

It was because of his stats that I didn't reraise preflop, which I think might've been my biggest mistake here. I was planning a check-raise on the flop, and after he checked behind, I was immediately suspicious. Obviously the only thing I'm worried about is a set, but once in a blue moon 7s and 6s. This was a very tough laydown. Re: Couple of hands I need opinions on
Hand one I fold flop. The reverse implied odds are terrible, there is no way you are seeing a cheap showdown. Also betting a bit less on the flop could keep the pot a bit smaller.
Hand two I reraise preflop almost always. Given that you didn't I probably call the turn because you underrepresented your hand so far and he could have been "trapping" with an overpair on the flop or has some draw. Hand 3 checking the turn is fine but once he checks the river make your value bet at least 8 dollars. |
Re: Couple of hands I need opinions on
hand 1 is tough - everyone and their mom called making this a bloated pot and you're OOP. I probably play it like you do though. He could be min-raising w/ a weaker Q.
hand 2, I'd rr pre-flop. As played, definitely call turn hand 3 i'd bet 7 at the end, but that's just being nitty - looks good. |

Hand two: The more I think about it, the more it seems like he could've been trapping me with an overpair. Poo |
Re: Couple of hands I need opinions on
Hand 1 is a classic Baluga hand - Although with those stats, this could very well be QJ, QT, or KQ. I think I fold the flop though as well.
Hand 2 is an easy call IMO. He raised preflop to steal blinds so he could have anything ranging from 54 which is bad, to 99, which you are gravy. I think you're ahead more often than not though. Hand 3 looks fine. I agree to bet more on the river, but looks good. |

HAND 1
I dont like the raise PF because you are possibly creating a big pot with a marginal hand oop. As played flop bet is too large bet 2/3 of pot or so. Once he min raises i would have just called (cheaper cuz my bet was smaller) and re evaluated on the turn. HAND 2 Reraise tol $7.5 or so PF you dont need to "mix up your play" at this level. |
