Evelyn Ng: The Anna Kournikova of Poker?
 

I was just wondering whether any of you believe it? I was watching the first 06' WSOP Circuit event and the 'Perfect Poker Player' has Evelyn Ng's looks. Is she just famous because she is beautiful or is it because she is beautiful AND skilled? Besides that Ladies only event, has she ever done anything impressive?

Enlighten me.

shes cashed in the last 3 world series (one this year, three last year and one in 2004), and shes made it deep in 3 WPT events the past two years. obviously she's not up to par with the top pros but i think her resume is definitely nothing to be scoffed at. she seems like a good player.

The real question is, how much she has spent in buyins all together? For every cash she may have like 4 - 6 non cashes.

Ng has made a little over 100K in tournaments in each of the past two years. Playing on the full tournament circuit costs at least twice that. So if she's playing a full slate, she's losing a lot of money, although I'm sure it is made up for in sponsorships.

lol, I agree. From what I hear Evelyn is mainly a mid/high limit cash game player (I saw her play 100-200 last year at the Bellagio). She is quite new to No-Limit tournaments so obviously, its not her best game. But I agree, if she looked like Kathy Liebert, we wouldn't know who she is.

PS. This same argument can be used with Jean Gluck.

i doubt shes playing the full circuit every year, she doesn't seem like the type (although im not sure). i'm sure shes probably not making big money or anything, but i don't think shes way in the red for tournaments. and isn't she a bodog team member? i'm sure they help her out some.
