7 Card Stud rules...
 

How does the betting work in Limit 7 Stud hi. I know the low card brings it in, you can then raise or complete. What is that "double" bet thing?

Also, lets say 2 people have the bring in card, who brings it in? Suit?

You'd probably be better off posting in the Beginners forum (under "General Gambling" on the left sidebar), if not the Stud forum. Be prepared to be ridiculed a bit, of course.

Double bet is if someone pairs their doorcard on 4th, they are allowed to bet the size of the big bet, so double the normal bet on 4th.

Bringin is by suit, alphabetic order.

clubs diamonds hearts spades.

A good way to remember the rank of suits for the bring-in is alphabetical order -- where the top of the alphabet is lowest.

Also, it's not just the player with the paired door card who can double-bet. The pair obviously acts first, but if he chooses to check or single bet, any player subsequently can choose to make a single or double raise -- but once someone double-bets or double-raises, all further raises on that round are at the upper limit.

e.g. A $5-$10 7-stud high game -- four players see fouth street. Bob pairs his 9 on fourth street, but despite that chooses to check. Charlie bets $5, Devin folds, and Eric raises $10 to $15. Bob can now choose to fold, call the $15, or raise to $25 (but NOT $20).

Seems like suit is most common, but that's never been the way I've seen it in home games or with friends. We typically have the dealer rotating and do it that tied hands are broken by position. So first player after dealer (amongst the tied players) brings it in. But we tend to only play stud in dealer's choice games with lots of weird variations or rotation situations like HORSE.
