Cool Stuff To Buy Because You Make So Much Money Playing Online Poker
 

This is kind of a response to the "Why should anyone play online poker" thread that's popped up.

Let's face it, poker kinda sucks. At least if you're playing it as a sole source of income. At least to me it sucks. It's a grind, it can be really stressful, the best times to play are when your friends just got off work, short term fluctuations, etc.

The reason I play? Money. No other real reason. Sometimes poker can be fun, (moving up, playing really deep, running hot), but it doesn't last. It's all about the dollars, and I'm ok with it.

So being the capitalist that I am, motivation to play poker comes from motivation to make money which comes from motivation to buy stuff.

Here's some stuff I want and am going to buy -

-Razr cell phone
-Flat screen 30'' TV, the kind you can put up on the wall
-A '93-'97 BMW, I kinda like the 321i
-I'm studying in Sweden next year, so i'm looking at all these side trips to Italy and the eastern Europe area.

Then just a bunch of stupid stuff like going out for nice dinners, golfing, and getting massages.

For me at least, thinking about these things help me log the hands (as horrible as it sounds).

So go ahead, be materialistic. I need more cool [censored] to buy.

well, its cool your ok with it, but the more enjoyable poker is to you, the better your winrate and the quicker your skill progresses. I'm kind of in the same boat as you, not really enjoying the game, constantly checking my bankroll, and I am clearly not playing my best. I'm thinking about taking a long break and see if it's enjoyable after > 1 month away.

A faster PC and more monitors so I can play more poker. Maybe some sweet poker t-shirts or hats or something. Beyond that, I dunno, maybe my own casino.
