NHL picks 1/18

I have seen some other people start threads with their picks each day and its kind of fun to watch and see how people do so I figure I will start my own since I have been
doing pretty well with hockey this year. Feel free to post your opinions on any of the games.

YTD (0 - 0 , 0 units) (I'll start from scratch here)

Det ML -210 (2 units)
Atl/Dallas Under 6.5 -120 (1 unit)

I have not locked in these picks yet, so I would like to remove the ATL/DAL under as Marty Turco is injured and won't eb starting.

So basically only bet for today will be Det Moneyline even with all the juice.

I like the following:

Atlanta +169
The Thrashers have won four straight and Turco's not starting. I think this is a one goal game and +169 is worth taking a chance the extra goal goes to Atlanta.

Leafs/Wild Under 5.5 EVEN
Starting goalies are reported to be Manny Fernandez and Mikael Tellqvist. Manny's numbers speak for themselves and right now, Tellqvist is better than Belfour.

Wings/Jackets Over 6.5 -111
Osgood and LeClaire are the probable starters. Both offences have been firing lately, and I can easily see a 5-3 or 6-4 result.

wow, lots of different opinions here.
fwiw,
ATL +169
CLB +183, this may be dumb, but I think columbus is going to have a decent second half. They are finally getting healthy.

Almost hate to tell you, but I am on the Jackets as well

Jackets have won 4 in a row at home and 8 of their last 11. This team is playing much better and definitely has a chance to win this game tonight. This line is more a reflection of how this team played earlier in the year and the fact that Detroit is the NY Yankees of the NHL. The value is definitely on the Jackets side of this line.

Meh, I am sure we were on the right side of that line. Jackets were still an underdog though and are going to lose more than they win in that spot. Got to keep playing the odds.

We'll get 'em next time.
