I run a bluff. I got called.
Opponent in question is TAGish. Stupid river bet? Or should I fire that last barrel?

Re: I run a bluff. I got called.
My guess is, if this guy is a thinking player at all, that he will see your flop action (screams overcards) and call the river enough to probably make this -EV. If you've seen this player make river laydowns or any other overly "tight" play, that would probably make this profitable.

Re: I run a bluff. I got called.
You should be in check fold mode on the turn if it misses you. Like this flop for instance. No reason to take this hand any further.

Re: I run a bluff. I got called.
If you were gonna run at him, you pretty much needed to 3-bet the flop and fire again on the turn. By the river here, you're screwed...

Re: I run a bluff. I got called.
I think this is a pretty bad spot to bluff at. A taggish cold-calls and then raises you on an extremely dry board. It looks a lot like a mid PP to me.
Bluffing the turn is a real longshot because the 2 is such an innocent card. You'd have to have really good control over this player to get him to lay down a hand like 99 here - I wouldn't ever try this unless you knew he played very scared, or has thought that you were incredibly passive. If the turn was a K, then this CR might have some merit. Once he calls the turn, the river bet has virtually no value, imo. He wasn't drawing when he called the turn, and the river brings a total blank - if he's called this far with his mid pair, he's calling for one more. (plus on the off-chance that he was on a wierd draw like 35 he'll probably check-behind and you'll win this with the second-nut-nothing). |
