River check behind after turn 3-bet

Live 40 game.
My image is solid. There is one other good player at the table, he is not involved in the hand. All others range from oblivious to educated donk.

I limp 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] on the button after two limpers (#1 limps most hands he plays, including the raising ones; the second is learning)
Someone out there likes a fold here...sometimes.

the sb (the best of the baddies) raises and we all call.

flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
the sb bets and we all call

turn 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
the sb bets, first limper raises, i 3-bet, both players call.

river Jx
checked around.

I hated getting two callers on the turn. I don't really care about the J, especially after the sb checks, but having two of them in there made my stomach twist.

I don't see why you check the river when it blanks off. I think a value bet is in order, albeit a relatively thin one. It will be pretty tough for a big ace to lay down against you in a pot this size, no matter how much they think they're beat.

Oh yeah, and misdeal, two 8 of spades in the deck.

I wouldn't think into it too much. I think it is normal for amatuer players to check around to the last bettor.

One of them probably has an ace (maybe both). Of course, one may also have a straight draw (A7, A4, A9). And if that second 8 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] was actually another suit, one of them could be sitting on a good flush draw.

I agree with JAA, bet for value and call a single raise. Two raisers would be a tough call and really depends on the players and your read of them during the hand.

Not sure what you're scared of here, if you check your opponents will bet all better hands and check worse ones but will almost certainly not raise you with hands that beat you (most likely aces up) if they didn't cap the turn.

Thanks. This is what I thought as soon as I checked. Especially against these players any hand I'm losing to probably caps the turn, or bets the river if they sucked out. Pretty sure I missed out on 160 here.
