Should I Continue?

I play limit hold'em, $1/$2, online and I'm trying to decide if I should continue playing. I'm curious if anyone is making more than one half of one BB per hour?

When I started learning and playing the game I was lead to believe that at least 2 BB per hour was possible.

I'm on my fifth reading of Small Stakes Hold'em by Ed Miller. I play one table at a time so I can devote all my attention to it. On the average hand there are 2 or 3 opponents seeing the flop with such weak cards they never should have played them. Yet one half of one BB per hour is the best I can do.

If anyone has kept careful records and is doing better, I would appreciate hearing about it. It would just be nice to know if it's possible. Thanks.

if you move up to 300/600 that's like $900 per hour!

I'd kill myself out of boredom if I only played one table.

The thing is, they've capped 1/2 tables at .5 BB/100 as you can see in my stats. It's an effort to keep the real good players out of the higher limits.

So eff that [censored]. Move up!

I am running super hot at 1/2 so far this month, I'm sure its about to end, but I'm making 2.9 bb/100. Hourly it comes out to about 10.5 bb/hr.

Chino, how many hands have you played? A couple of weeks ago, a very good player posted a graph showing around a 1BB/100 winrate over 100k hands. This was following a really nice winrate over the previous 100k hands. So your futility may just be due to variance. Breathe it. Love it. Fondle it like a plump titty.

About 20,000. I started playing six months ago at .02/.04 level and worked my way up to $1/$2. With only two exceptions, I've made money every week. I can win and win consistently but just can't win much.

20k hands isn't enough to make a judgment about whether you should continue or not. If you're winning and you enjoy it, then continue. Don't worry about your winrate so much. If you're playing right, your winrate will pan out in the end. Try bonus whoring if you really need the money before then.
