Re: Tricky Hand vs JC Tran
Why would you want to induce a bluff when you have a marginal hand that can't stand to call a large raise?
I really don't like your river bet. |
Re: Tricky Hand vs JC Tran
Slow playing straight/or nothing?

Re: Tricky Hand vs JC Tran
i probably check this river, i don't see the logic behind betting it, if he is as good as you say he is, what hand is he going to call this river with that you beat?

Re: Tricky Hand vs JC Tran
This bet makes your hand look far too much like a weak to average hand looking for a showdown. Definitely check the river and do not bet that small into that pot if it will leave you with such a problem.
In terms of whether to call the most likely straight combos of J9c/AJc probably play harder on the flop most of the time. I could see them checking the turn though if he did play them slow. J9/AJ unsuited (obviously 2nd one is less likely too) and most made hands probably aren't wanting to give you a free river card since it's quite possible you have 2 clubs here. It is really important here to look at how he views you? Any clues here? A lot here so far points to him not expecting you to be able to call. |

http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showfl...e=0#Post6021857 I wanted to induce a bluff on this river by value betting into him, then suddenly when he raised me huge I had a change of heart [/ QUOTE ] This doesn't make ANY sense. you induced bluff, now call. |
Re: Tricky Hand vs JC Tran
That is a goofy river bet but so was your flop bet. Hands that make sense to me are 44 and a bluff but his range could include a lot of other hands that don't make sense to me like AJ.
The only way you can bet the river like that is if you have decided to call a raise, so go ahead and follow through. |
