Making Cut-Cards at Home, Some Questions......

Basically because I have nothing better to do with my free time, I want to try making cut-cards for my home games using a sheet of plastic and an exacto knife.

The cut-cards I get from casino supply places are pretty flimsy and sometimes slightly transparent, so I'd want to use a thicker grade of plastic.

Does anyone with a micrometer handy or some familiarity with plastic thicknesses have an idea what kind of sheet I should buy to do this?

I found a multi-divided, black ring notebook (5x8, i think) at Kmart and cut up the black plastic dividers into cut cards.

Works great for $1.59 or whatever I spent- got 14 cut cards out of it. Took a little while to find the right color, as most were too thin and allowed the colors of the cards to come through.

The cheapest way I know of is to take a joker and put several layers of duct tape over all sides of it neatly. I have several and they work fine. Guys at my game are always making cracks, but who cares. That's part of the fun.
I saw them being used in some tavern tourneys in Southeastern Wisconsin (taverntourneys.com) so I copied them.

I haven't found them to wear very well. I didn't try gluing them, but I also don't want to get the cut card mixed with the deck and not easily find it (with the same backs)
