2001FP with S-Video
I am looking to purchase a 2001FP monitor and have a CRT monitor using a VGA hookup into a nVidia GeForce of some kind. I'm wondering how the quality is on the 2001FP monitors using S-Video connections as this would allow me to not install a new video card.
Thanks, -Ace |

Re: 2001FP with S-Video
Honestly, your best bet would be to buy a new video card. You can get one for cheap from www.newegg.com that has one DVI out for the 2001fp and it will also have one VGA connector for your CRT.

I agree, makes no sense to downconvert the signal from perfect digital to interlaced...best thing todo is to buy a new videocard..

Re: 2001FP with S-Video
Plus when I tried s-video on my geforce2 on a 2001 fp it couldnt get 1600 x 1200 res and 1280x1040 was very blurry. Just get a new video card, you can get some decent ones for around $50. I got a 256mb fx5500 for $40 from tigerdirect. It's not the greatest but it does the job.
Pricewatch.com is a good place to search |
