Ameristar St Louis: 5/5 PLO No Max Buy In?
I keep hearing about this game but, I thought Missouri had a $500 max buyin law? What are people buying in for there? Id like to take a shot but, I just don't believe taking a 1/4 of my BR to put in play at once.

Putting 1/4 of your roll into an NLH game would be foolish. Putting it into a PLO game would be batshit crazy -- too much variance.

Yeah, with a $2K bankroll, you can't play this game. I suspect the regulars in this game (and all other higher limit Missouri riverboat games) squirrel away a supply of black chips so that they have a decent buy-in for this game. Anyone who doesn't do so and loses their stack is out until the next 2 hour period rolls around, and the casinos do track how many chips you buy religiously.

I've heard stories that this game sometimes ends up with over $20k on the table.

[/ QUOTE ] This is correct, the high stakes players keep a roll of chips with them, and bring them to the games. My friend used to go there to just buy chips, and leave. He lived 5 minutes from the boat though. |

Caesar's IN sometimes has $20,000 pots and I believe the Horseshoe in Tunica has a PLO game that plays really big. Cash plays in Tunica and that helps make the game much bigger. |
