I\'m actually pissed off
 

2 weeks ago I had my worst day ever, by FAR, but took it really well. But now I feel a seething rage within me.

I was up 500 for the day, and saw a really terrible player playing. I decided not to sit since I was really tired. I couldnt get to sleep so I checked on the table. Not only was the terrible player still there, there were 3 other players, all of them very bad.

Well I just felt bad passing up such a profitable opportunity, so I sat down. Quickly run it up to total profit of 2K for the day. Then the beats start coming. Typical stuff, very annoying. I drop down and down until I am not up much. The fish has been promising 'last hand' for ages, but he wont leave. He says 'I want $5K' (he has 4.75K). Such a dumb, dumb thing to say. Next hand, I get JJ, he calls a raise with Q7o, river Q - 'bye'.

So, I am now down for the day (not by much). I have had people get lucky v me before, and as I said I have lost a lot more money and took it really well, but right now I am tense and angry and sad.

btw after he left the game was still excellent, but I left immediately. Impressed with my self control.

Who moved this here? I deliberately put it in psychology because I wanted to analyse why this pissed me off so much whereas my much much much worse day didn't.

That comes across so easily in your OP;)

I think that attaining something and having it stipped away hurts more than never having it in the first place. If you won a million and lost it the next day, it would more than piss you off dispite being even and financially secure.

I find I get most angry when I win a decent amount, feel good about it, and decide to call it a day. I uncheck autopost and of course lose 20% of my winnings on a hand or too before I have to repost. Giving yourself a mental "high 5" and then falling short hurts.

This is very good advice. Some of my biggest losing sessions have been late night sessions where I'm nodding off and just doing the stupidest [censored].
