Guys accessorizing with pink. Trend?

I know Kanye rocked the pink polos for a while, and every tool from high school to college started dressing the same way. I had no idea this creeped into the adult world.

I was in midtown Manhattan for some interviews yesterday, and noticed an astounding number of men in pink shirts and pink ties. I assume a lot of these guys are in the finance industry based on the geography. When did pink start becoming a "power" color, since I assume most of these guys would not have been caught dead in anything pink in the late 90s. Who started this trend?

Bad post Jake.

Jesus. I thought it might have been a spring thing. There was enough pink near the Trump building to rival Victoria's Secret.

Spring/summer brings it out obviously. I have a sweet pink striped tie on today. I used to have a really awesome pink tie, but it is in the hands of some chick who stole it from me.

I had a look through the Gant summer catologue the other day. I swear half the stuff in there is pink. There was a pink jacket for chrissakes.

Clearly I'm not referring to pompous wig-wearing, gold-braid flaunting pansies in the 1700s. I'm referring to guys. Yeah, neckties are another pet peeve. Neckties should be outlawed. Also, there's a difference between buying something required by your employer and accessorizing.

I wonder why the finance industry is so much more fashion conscious (both good and bad) than the science sectors.

All my previous work has been in labs, where people have not changed thier wardrobe since 1990. Style in my sector is $40 pants from Macy's with a short sleeve dress shirt and sneakers.

I have a pink shirt and a pink tie that I will wear during spring/summer. My wife likes the way it looks and if it helps me get some extra lovin' then I don't care what the rest of you think.

It is unnecesary, hence an accessory. You have a cellphone and a million other devices surrounding you that tell time. Also, please replace any belts (im hoping you own only one) with a twisty tie, and PM for the name of a great Velcro shoe dealer.

A black sonics tshirt
blue jeans
vans
a timex atlantis 100 watch
a gonzaga hat

I <3 the west coast and the tech industry. Obviously I could dress better, the great thing though is that on a day to day basis i don't have to if i don't feel like it that day.

Times change. I'm more a traditional type of no earring, no bracelet or necklace, no man-purse guy myself. I don't put a scrunchy in my hair, a diamond in my tooth, or wear a lot of rings. I don't spend so much time on my hair that I worry someone might touch it and push it out of place, or grow facial hair that requires waxing or elaborate maintenance. I don't have a Prince Albert or incorporate jewelry into my actual body structure in any way.

That kind of love for ornamentation is chick stuff. Manly is easy and uncomplicated.
