The Aristocrats

Re: The Aristocrats
I love this joke. I forget which comic I last or first heard it; but it's truly classic.
Edit: Wow. South Park takes it furthur. This movie looks excellent. Good headsup. |
Re: The Aristocrats
They're had a deal for distribution that looks like it is falling through, so probably straight to DVD. Would be more fun to see in a theater.
|
Re: The Aristocrats
Saget is the cherry on top.

Re: The Aristocrats
Bump.
This movie was hilarious. |

Re: The Aristocrats
just saw it. it was good but i was kind of let down. gottfried (sp?) didn't have any 9/11 jokes in his actual friar's roast joke and i had hoped for more stuff that would make even the typical audience for this show really uncomfortable. it definitely had some good spots, just don't expect the world when you see it.
|
Re: The Aristocrats
he didn't touch 9/11 in the joke because it was like 5 days after and "the connection thru the empire state building" bombed. the reason it wasn't edgy enough was ppl have gotten desecenitized to [censored]. they did a little about race when they commented on this fact.

Re: The Aristocrats
i don't get it either

Bump. This movie was hilarious. [/ QUOTE ] Saw it over the weekend - riotously funny, up there with the Jackass movie IMO. |
Re: The Aristocrats
I saw it last week with turnipmonster (man-date alert!) and thought it was great. About 10 people walked out, and this was in New York. I can only imagine the reactions it will get in suburban theaters.
For those saying that they don't "get" the joke, Wikipedia has a good entry. |
Re: The Aristocrats
I thought the funniest version was the guy telling it to the homeless dude. bob saget was awesome also. good times.

Re: The Aristocrats
haha! I've gotta see it now.

Especially given that all the reviews made such a big deal about the Gilbert Godfried delivery at the ending, which absolutely sucked ass. Over all, I give the movie a C+ |
Re: The Aristocrats
bump.
the movie is coming out nationwide sometime this month. the south park version is definately over the top, but i can't wait to see the movie and hear all the variations of the joke. |
Re: The Aristocrats
this movie was great. i especially liked the "inverted" versions of the joke, one of which went something like this: the setup is the same--talent agent, family act--but this act involves the family playing mozart on the piano, painting a renaissance masterpiece, sipping tea, etc. when the talent agent asks what they call themselves, the reply is, "the c0cksucking motherfvckers." |

Re: The Aristocrats
i saw this last night and did not think it was very good. i personally hated how they edited it and would have preferred if they played some more uninterrupted versions of the joke. i give it a C-.

Re: The Aristocrats
i just got back from seeing this. i don't remember the last time i laughed so hard or so much at a movie. see it at all costs. absolutely hilarious. i need to see it again to catch some of the stuff i couldn't hear because i was laughing so damn hard.
and as always, i [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] sarah silverman. |
Re: The Aristocrats
ran a search, this was the first thread i saw for this movie.
just watched it and wow, that was [censored] hilarious! at first my jaw was on the floor and i will admit i was offended at first, but once you relax and watch with an open mind it's great. i liked the mime's joke, sarah silverman's joke was [censored] great and bob saget was amazing! if you have not seen this movie and enjoy a good laugh, check it out, if you are offended easily, skip it. |
Re: The Aristocrats
Yeah, SS is soooo hot.
I was dying after Carlin's opening joke, but the movie wasnt as funny as I was expecting. There was a lot of documentry. Then Bob Saget talked about making it as flat as a book mark and I was back on the floor. |
Re: The Aristocrats
sarah silverman is so freakin' funny in this, I cried. It helps to know who Joe Franklin is, of course, but it's still funny even if you don't.
And I love Gilbert Godfried's ending...fantastic movie. |
Re: The Aristocrats
I think hands down the funniest part of this movie was Kevin Pollack's impersonation of Christopher Walken telling the joke.

Re: The Aristocrats
I just rented this movie last night. This morning my stomach feels like I had an intense ab workout, I was laughing so hard. I had to pause it during the mime scene because I thought I was going to die; I couldn't catch my breath from laughing. I haven't even watched the special features yet.

Re: The Aristocrats
it's a really funny movie, i think this is a hate it or love it kinda deal though.
i got absolutely plastered last night and told the joke, it went over really well at the bar! everyone was in stitches! |
Re: The Aristocrats
Great movie, though not as funny as I thought it would be. the highlights were Bob Saget, Gilbert Godfried (SP?), and the South Park version.
I know it was Andy Richter who was one of the guys telling the joke while holding his kid, but who was the second guy holding his kid? That scene was also absolutely hysterical. |

[ QUOTE ] i got absolutely plastered last night and told the joke, it went over really well at the bar! [/ QUOTE ] Way to ruin the movie for everyone... -McGee [/ QUOTE ] That doesn't ruin the movie at all. The point of the joke is not the punchline anyway. Everyone admits that the punchline is pretty stupid, but its the buildup that's important. This film took a look at how the joke has evolved and how each comic makes that joke their own. |
Re: The Aristocrats
card trick to the tune of aristocrats
This is really tame compared to the South Park version, however, I got to participate in a special moment with it. I have a group of friends that are really like happy kinda crazy neat people. They do stuff like get together to bake and eat treats, carve pumpkins, play frisbee, whatever. They're awesome people. My buddy who introduced me to these people sent me the link to this card trick. He didn't totally understand the significance of the joke, but he thought that it was pretty crazy stuff. I was at a party with these guys, and he says, "Hey guys, check out this card trick." And plays the video for them. This is WAY beyond our regular type of humour. So they're watching, and they're kinda giggling nervously at some of the things the magician is doing and saying. And then it ends, and there's silence for like a complete second and a half. And I jump in with, "Did you get it??!" Again, silence for like 1.5 seconds. One of the guys says, very softly, "That was a neat trick." Priceless. |
