Re: My weak/pathetic style

You have to felt this considering you haven't given some strong read that would at least form the basis for reason to fold when you did. He probably has AJ+; I mean you haven't exactly shown a ridiculous amount of strength.

Re: My weak/pathetic style

if you play it like that then fold pf.

You really think he has a set of tens or AT?

More likely AK or AQ

Boredom 04-20-2006 09:33 PM

Re: My weak/pathetic style

wouldn't he raise you like this after the line you took with MANY hands which you beat? do you really think you're behind here very often, or is there some other consideration, like being out of position and there being tons of scare cards which can come, and basically just not knowing how to handle a large river bet much of the time?

<------------$10 NL player btw

Re: My weak/pathetic style

Because I was ascared, I don't know. It felt disgusting at the time, but I didn't think he was raising that much with AK-AQ, and I had no real reason to put him on air. So you guys definitely go broke here?

Re: My weak/pathetic style

dont think of it as going broke. think of it as going for another stack

Re: My weak/pathetic style

F you all straight to H!

I realized it was bad (see title). I think it's a decent hand for discussion anyway.

As played, call the turn and then depending on the river, check-call? If the river is a king or queen and he pushes, find a fold? Or just 3-bet the turn all in?

As not played...who folds pre-flop? Do you lead or check-call this type of flop with TP crap kicker? Is it better to pot the turn (then call push?)?

Re: My weak/pathetic style

Go for a fat turn check raise. What are you scared of?

TheWorstPlayer 04-20-2006 10:34 PM

Re: My weak/pathetic style

yes, why don't you look at ender's thread about his tough turn call with TPTK? then why don't you see how that might apply to this hand and your line?

microbet 04-20-2006 10:37 PM

Re: My weak/pathetic style

Depends on the villain, but I would think folding preflop would be good against a lot of players.

Having called preflop, I like checking the flop.

Feeling like I'm generally ahead on the turn, with a villian who is very likely to bet any hand that is a danger to me, I think a check-raise is a good plan.

Does anyone think that would define your hand too well?

MrFeelNothin 04-20-2006 10:50 PM

Re: My weak/pathetic style

You set up the hand perfectly for an all-in 3bet on the turn that will likely get called by AQ/AK........so why didn't you do it?

Anyways, yeah I like 3betting the turn all-in fo sho.

this sums up my opinion completely...i love your line until this horrible fold...if you don't hit the 4 i probably play it like this if i don't fold on the flop

Re: My weak/pathetic style

this is completely opponent dependent
how straightforward is he?

Re: My weak/pathetic style

I like this hand until, instead of calling and then donking the river one more time (or pushing now), you misclicked and folded.

Please don't misclick next time.

thorladen 04-21-2006 12:29 AM

Re: My weak/pathetic style

I agree either a misclick or computer froze
Dont feel bad one time I folded AA preflop when my computer froze too

Re: My weak/pathetic style

I actually like the way you played it until you folded. The line you took is generally a weak hand that can't withstand a re-raise(you can) so your opponent could really have anything. I think calling and leading any river for like 500 would be the best play.

Actual God 04-21-2006 12:42 PM

Thanks everyone - brain misclick it was.

Re: My weak/pathetic style

no, no, no

god surely knows that villain could only hold aa or 44; had he put him on 53 then god is definitely pushing turn.
