My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

Seemed to be a ton of cynics in the other thread, I'd be willing to do this prop bet though. This would work out to 1.2M for the year which overshoots the 1M in a year by quite a bit.

I'd match any bet people are willing to make (well capped at my bankroll)

actually this will never work b/c people like building sweaters will come and sit at my tables for "fun" and make it impossible for this to be fair.

The length of a year is way harder because you will get bored of the competition and grinding.

agreed. although i think this bet would be hard as f*ck, too. can anyone come up with a fair way to make it work?

How do you think zeebo's image will help/hurt him?? Personally, I think all the regulars will try to avoid him leaving him at a table full of fish. For Zeebo it probably wont matter, but it would be interesting to see his impact on these games.

TomHimself 04-14-2006 07:05 PM

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

well u can have someone datamine the games (hint n8 52)
then have someone randomly call up zeebo when he is playing and have him tell his hole cards to make sure hes the one playing (this wont nesecarilly work)

and escort the money for the bet before hand.
maybe even have zeebo setup a new account so people wont know its him

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

Interesting? No, it would be totally gay. My winrate at 3/6 would definitely take a hit 10 tabling the 3/6 6-max games.

Playing a rediculous amount of poker hands for one month is very different from doing it for a year. A great analogy would be people who make a new years resolution to get in shape, workout hard for a month and then sit around on the couch for the next 11 months.

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

i personally think 100k in 1 month of 3/6 NL is far easier than 1 million in 1 year of 3/6 NL

Number27 04-14-2006 07:28 PM

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

There are so many ways for Zeebo to get cheated here. I'm not going to list them off because people will get ideas; but if I were Zeebo I would make the bet with only one person and make sure that I would trust that person completely.

ggbman 04-14-2006 07:35 PM

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

Zeebo,

100k in a month is muuuch more likely than 1 million in a year. Also, if something like this ever worked, you would have to put a cap on the number of hours you would play. You said it could be done relativley easily in 3 hours a day, so would that be a provision in the bet?

Also just to be clear, because i am not as AWESOME as you are in poker, i don't have 100k that i would comfortably through into a prop bet. I mean if a bunch of people are allowed to do it i would throw in 10k depending on the hourly cap... but generally i would be more than happy to let this die.

aba20 04-14-2006 07:38 PM

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

If you will outline all the rules and discuss ways to stop cheating (by you and others) I will bet you 20K. This will not be simple discussion and I have a feeling that this thread will soon be forgotten. I also agree that this is far easier than 1M over a year, but still very challenging.

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

I'm with you, but only have 1K to bet.

That makes $21K so far.

Anyone else? If enough of us get together, maybe we can make it worth the Cpt's time.

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

zeebo,

i wont make this bet cause there is no way to verify conclusively that you are the only one playing on your account. if there was someway, then i would bet a few hundred thousand you couldnt make 1.2 million/12 months at $3/$6...

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

ggbman, I was just giving an example of the math in how it wouldn't be that hard, not saying I'd definitely be able to do it with only 3 hrs/day. But lets just assume I played 6 hours a day, you'd see how much leeway I'd have.

kkf, yeah there's lots of logistical problems which will make this bet impossible. I tried deleting the thread shortly after I posted it, but it was too late.

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

Yeah, my edge if the limit was 6 hr/s a day wouldn't be big enough, and as everyone has said, this bet won't happen so who cares? No hard feelings, my doubt isn't a personal attack on you, and i'm sure you know that.

So if you bet two hundred thousand and won 1.1mil over the course of the year you would still have made 900k. Doesn't seem like a bad way to lose if you ask me.

Re: My prop bet: 100k in 1 month at 3/6 NL

It could be done if you

1)Made a fresh account or took over a third party's account with no money to start
2)Made a video of every session and kept them as evidence, then released them to the bettor(s) at the end of the bet (videos as in digicam or webcam, not as screen grabs)

If you were eager enough to do this there are ways to verify it.

i think the only solution is to have flawless move in with zeebo for a month and document his every move. i'd imagine their similar tastes for the finer things in life would make this a great time for both, and at the end they might decide to become roommates.

Don't even give this punk the satisfaction of wagering money with him, he invited me to play him HU last night and didn't even show.

We get the point, it's easy money at 3/6, obviously. How about you play me every day at a time we work out for the next few months of 50-100 NL HU and we see where your bankroll stands then, if you are not stuck for well over six figures (assuming you are that deep), I will transfer you 100k on my kids life.
