There have been lots of pro-heavy tables this year and tonight is no exception.

According to my cable guide, the World Poker Tour won't be seen in Las Vegas at 6pm PDT. Instead, we'll have to wait until 9pm. If this is true elsewhere in the West, there will be quite a few upset posters.

Nice tape on those logos.

Also, Tony's starting stack is hilarious to look at. What's that.. 6 chips?

LOL. tonite we have the oldest player to ever make a WPT final table last time we had the youngest, what luck!

Whats with the tape on the hats? Harrington's hat isn't even a sponsor. Its a Red Sox hat.

I'm surprised they made Harrington tape over the Red Sox logo, but Gavin Smith's FTP shirt is allowed.

This should be called "Travel Channel Scams and Ripoffs"

Edit: Actually, I shouldn't blame TC, it looks like the local cable company is the culprit, I think they've switched from the East coast feed to West Coast feed, because it's on at 9pm and at midnite instead of the usual 6pm and 9pm.

Did Doyle pick Minh Ly and Don Zewin as his two favorites? I can see Minh, but Harrington has 6 times more chips than Don. Strange.

Re: WPT Season 4: Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship (4/1

Sorenson's WSOP bracelet wasn't stud/8 but just stud (it was on TV and they'd never show stud/8 on tv...)

Okay now that the nitpicking is over.

Anyway if I can walk and am playing at a good enough level to make a WPT final table at 81 I'll take it for sure.

Sidenote--who'd ever believe in this era there'd be a televised poker final table where Gavin Smith was the "young gun"?

Now I'm pissed off. What...playing the #1 rated show on the Travel Channel during prime time is not good enough for the west coast now? Give me a break. 3 more frekin hours to wait, how nice.

Gavin sure is fat, obnoxious and annoying to watch.

I was definitely calling for the ten for Harrington.

Re: WPT Season 4: Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship (4/1

This was the after the WPT allowed logos at the table, problem is that it was for online poker sites, not sports teams. They've taped over baseball caps the other times someone has worn them at the table.

What chowderhead producer thought to ask for/insist on the tape? It's not in the clips from earlier action.

Is this anti 2+2 ism? I mean, I've seen guys with warships on thier caps.

Who got the gig to go out and find tape that nearly matched the cap lol? ;~)

Re: WPT Season 4: Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship (4/1

Why is the WPT set so unusually dark. Last year's Doyle Brunson NAP Championship with Juanda, Kido Pham, and Mortenson was so much lighter and livelier. And yes, Courtney Friel is absolutely abysmal, whether it be an exit interview or trying to talk to Doyle Brunson in the crowd. She is really bringing down the show, she has no enthusiasm for the game whatsoever.

Where's the tape? This invalidates the 'card rooms only' theory. It's obviously a no hat logo rule. :/

Lol at his nickname.

Re: WPT Season 4: Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship (4/1

They're picking some strange hands to show. 2 preflop steals, 1 preflop raise followed by a flop takedown. I must admit its nice to see 4 names I recognize at the end.

I have not read any of the responses yet.... but is it just me or is this the worst episode ever? It seems like these guys are at a funeral. And the commentators trying extra hard to make it seem dramatic are not helping.

Also, did they ever give this Courtney chick a screen test? She is *terrible*!!?! I mean I knew she was terrible from Ep. 1.... but tonight there was a nail that broke the coffin's back.

Dear WPT: Please sell the rights to someone like NBC Sports who can actually put a decent broadcast together. You guys grew on me but this season has just been abysmal in pretty much every way.

you are correct

a) courtney freil needs a cattleprod shoved up her ass, she has as much personality as a dead baby

b) sexton is killing me..."that's the great thing about no limit hold em, he bets with nothing and wins" or "there he is betting, hold em awards the bettor"

c) WTF is with the episode structure...3 hands, a 90 second segment, 10 minutes of commercials, rinse/repeat..

awful all around

The amount of hands they show is terrible when you consider that they had a decent amount of play when they started. I mean even if they just show like 2 or 3 more where a flop is seen.

Hey,what about Ming's tell when he got the aces? Do you think he was doing the psych out with a reverse tell by acting so excited? I thought the subtitles when he spoke was hilarious.

Some of the events have had as few as 80 hands.

It would be nice if they could maybe summarize some of the hands. Wasting time on the 'drama' of someone thinking over a decision is boring and stupid.

Re: WPT Season 4: Doyle Brunson North American Poker Championship (4/1

Or put the fluff in the middle of a long tank time so that you get some time back:

MS: Will he call here with the two sevens?
VVP: The walking sticks, looking to hit the slot machine on the flop!
MS: Well while we wait for him, let's find out about the ridiculous rug on his head!

...Courtney interviews the rugsmen....

VVP: "And we are back and he has called here with the two 7s. We are on the flop"

I mean the info on the screen is enough to fill anyone in.

I'd rather watch quality players being "boring" than hyper twentysomethings jumping around every time they win a pot.

Harrington playing it by the book. Made the probing bet on the flop, didn't work as Smith called, and check/folded the turn with the second best hand.

Ya. I have it on mute with south park on my tv now. I don't watch the last half of WPT events any more because it's not really poker.
